Google Glass Is About To Get a Stylish Makeover

Digital Fashion News Writer

There's no way of sugar-coating it: Google Glass is a little awkward looking. While the device's first generation prototype has already made incredible headway in the industry, it's about to get way cooler with the help of Italian eyewear conglomerate Luxottica Group, which owns such big-name brands as Ray-Ban and Oakley.

On Monday, Luxottica announced plans to design, produce and distribute new styles of the computerized headgear, with Oakley and Ray-Ban leading the way in the development process; more pertinent details won't be released until a later date.

"We have come to a point where we now have both a technology push and a consumer pull for wearable technology products and applications," Luxottica's chief executive officer Andrea Guerra said in a press release. "We believe it is high time to combine the unique expertise, deep knowledge and quality of our Group with the cutting-edge technology expertise of Google and give birth to a new generation of revolutionary devices."

Does this mean we'll be seeing Google Glass accessorized alongside It bags and the like? We'll just have to wait and see, but this is definitely a good step.
