Sarah Jessica Parker Named The Shoes In Her Second Footwear Collection After Her Friends
The latest additions to Sarah Jessica Parker's footwear line have some familiar names—and no, I know what you’re thinking. They’re not Samantha, Miranda or Charlotte. Instead, SJP Collection’s four new styles are named after four friends whom she admires, according to The Wall Street Journal.
First, there’s the urban, sophisticated Blythe pump ($375), named “for the great Blythe Danner,” opposite whom Parker starred in last year’s The Commons of Pensacola on Broadway. Parker writes, “I’m thrilled with the inky blue and the shoe’s proud silhouette.”
Then, there’s the Pat (Patricia Field) boot ($695), otherwise known as the “sexy” addition to her new lineup. As Sex and the City’s legendary costume designer, Field “has been an enormous influence on me and millions of others. Without her contributions, Carrie Bradshaw would have been incomplete.”
The Rachel pump ($355) is named for Parker’s sister, and it’s “a great version of a slingback that is wickedly sexy but still ladylike.” Like Rachel herself, it’s described as “exquisite.”
And finally, Parker named the Sergie bootie ($455) after Serge Normant, her longtime hair stylist. “I love the suede/color combination and how it sits on the leg,” she said. “And I think it’s very modern.”
While this foursome has certainly played an instrumental part in Parker’s adult life, let’s not forget about the pals she snubbed! Just imagine: the Matthew (Broderick) kitten heel, the Anna (Wintour) mid-rise pump, the Jerry (Seinfeld) thigh-high boot and the Nathan (Lane) ballet flat—and we’re just getting warmed up.
