The Beauty Closet: Kiehl's Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion

A friend of mine looks remarkably like the surfer Kelly Slater. We noticed this when Kelly Slater first appeared in the tabloids, during the brief Gisele phase. "Joe," we'd tease him. "We had no idea about Gisele!" Unlike Kelly Slater, Joe has four children; his youngest child looks uncannily like Pearl, the two-year-old who spouts profanity at and demands rent from Will Ferrell in the YouTube video. Perhaps surprisingly, perhaps not, the whole family is enchanted with the real Kelly Slater. Six of them trooped into my office unexpectedly the other day; Kelly Slater was signing autographs in Times Square.
Joe, like every man I've ever met since becoming a beauty editor, loves one brand and one brand only: Kiehl's. When I discovered several days after the visit that the real Kelly Slater had designed a special jumbo bottle of Kiehl's already fantastic argan-oil moisturizer in honor of Earth Day, it at first seemed like the craziest coincidence. Then I realized, Kelly Slater = male = Kiehl's. Slowly, it all began to make sense.
Lest you think this item is solely for Kelly Slater and his doppelgängers, know that this lotion is rich, creamy, and unisexily citrusy. I adore the stuff—it sinks in instantly, yet you're fully hydrated and utterly un-itchy for an entire day. It was hard to give up a bottle to the ur—Kelly Slater, but it was also impossible to resist such an obviously excellent gifting opportunity. So I got two.
