The Beauty Closet: Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash

I have kind of a pomegranate thing; I spent many a childhood afternoon up in the pomegranate tree in our backyard, eating pomegranates and doubtlessly looking very ur-True Blood, or at least very pre-Benefit Benetint, as I spied on our next-door neighbors, the remarkably all-American Johnsons. The Johnsons were the dullest espionage subjects ever in the world: They never did anything. There was a mother and a father and a sister and a brother, all with blond hair and blue eyes. They rode bikes and splashed in their plastic kiddie pool. The dad grilled hamburgers. There was never a whiff of controversy, ever. Very un-pomegranate—which really, in the fruit world, is by far the most transgressive. (Between Persephone and the blood-esque juice dripping through your fingers. No?)
The sharp scent of pomegranate is refreshing, but it's got an earthy sexiness going on as well. Too often, perfumers interpret the earthy-sexy part in a fig sort of way, which I cannot stand. This new pomegranate—there's a whole line, with bath oil, moisturizer, and this amazing body wash—is perfect. No fig. Only fresh and sexy. The big extra is it's more moisturizing than even the super-moisturizing body washes, because it contains no detergent. This means it foams less, but it does still foam, and it leaves your skin incredibly soft.
