Cotton candy is a very high-low treat. Carnies shove it across grimy temporary countertops at state fairs, and dark-suited waiters, if you're especially charming, glide out ferrying tufts of it to your perfectly set table after lunch at the Four Seasons in New York (as Henry Kissinger and Diane Sawyer look on jealously). Pale pink nail polish is similarly all-purpose and go-anywhere, a satisfyingly girly experience that somehow sidesteps frilliness. What makes this particular pink especially silly and extra enjoyable: Once it dries, it's scented ever so faintly like … cotton candy. Uncannily, the scent lingers (tastefully, subtly, in keeping with the barely-there shade itself) as long as the polish stays on.
