It is deeply un-relaxing to be told to relax. It is sort of a beauty-editor occupational hazard, however; as there
are many products designed to be relaxing, I get this command often. “Ladies … ladies!” the harried PR executive will say in
her soothingest voice
to try to coax us into forgetting our waiting deadlines and our unwritten stories. “Relax!”
So I am a little disinclined toward “relaxing” products. But this one—it is a tiny vial of essential oils that smell so
good it is hard to pick out specifics, beyond lavender and maybe
a jasmine or a honeysuckle—cannot be argued with. It is completely and utterly and unstressfully relaxing. You keep it in your bag or your desk and, like Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet, you inhale in times of stress (perhaps a little less strenuously). It is so balmy and soothing and heavenly, in fact, that I took home the bath salts in the same scent, inducing a mild, pleasing delirium
I cannot recommend more highly.
