Gym Hair-Spiration: Easy Styles That Will Stay in Place Long After Your Workout's Done

Sleek Ponytail

"Start by using a brush and an elastic band, positioning how high you would like the ponytail to be. Tip: don’t twist the elastic too tight! This causes hair to break and results in damage. One of my favorite tool tricks: use a bungee wrap elastic (elastics with two hooks on the ends to hold hair in place). Your sleek ponytail will be perfect and stay in place no matter what type of exercise you’re doing. Wrap a piece of hair from the ponytail around the elastic; it hides the elastic and gives off a put-together, neat look."

It's baffling to me how good female athletes—namely tennis players—often look at the end of a game. Aside from simply being in killer shape, the key, I think, is in the hair.

So the next time you hit the gym, take a cue from the pros. Go for a no-fuss braid, bun or ponytail that's secure enough to withstand even the most intense cardio session, but cute enough to wear in public post-workout.
