Kirsten Dunst On the Role That Fried Her Hair
Actors sacrifice a lot for their craft: their weight, their looks or—as Kirsten Dunst can attest—their hair. Earlier this month, the actress was named L'Oreal Professional's first-ever brand ambassador, but thanks to a few of her past roles, her hair hasn't always been campaign-worthy.
Dunst revealed to WWD today that the towering updos we loved so much in Marie Antoinette nearly ruined her hair. "I literally had doll hair at the end; it was so fried because of all the hair spray," she told the publication. Then, five years later, she sacrificed a random chunk of hair in order to convincingly play Justine, a depressed newlywed in Lars von Trier's Melancholia.
Thankfully, the damage wasn't permanent. We think the actress' signature, unkempt beach waves are looking better than ever!
