Marc Jacobs has been full of surprises this year. First, Miley Cyrus landed his spring campaign, then a Kardashian walked in his fall show—and now, 64-year-old actress Jessica Lange has been named the new face of his beauty line.

The designer broke the news and offered a sneak peek of the forthcoming ad compaign, shot by David Sims, last night on Instagram. Though perhaps an unexpected choice, this isn't the first time Lange has worked with Jacobs. Earlier this month, the American Horror Story star lent her voice to the spoken-word soundtrack at his fall show.

The news follows the announcement of 68-year-old English actress Charlotte Rampling as the new face of NARS. It's refreshing and exciting to see beauty brands embracing the unconventional. We can't wait to see both of the full ad campaigns—the two timeless ladies are sure to look as gorgeous as ever!
