Clean and shape your nails. The best shape for this style is square with a slightly rounded edge, aka "squoval."
Apply a nourishing base coat like Butter London's Horse Power Nail Fertizilizer that not only protects your nails from yellowing, but also repairs damaged nail beds.
Choose a neutral color as the foundation. Try HIPPxRGB in S1, since it makes nails look shiny and healthy, plus allows the colors you choose for the French tips to really pop.
Choose two contrasting colors for those tips. Pastels are big for spring, so Deborah Lippmann's Blue Orchid and Essie's My Better Half are strong seasonal choices. Apply one coat of color along the tip of your nail. Let it dry completely and repeat if you want the color to be super-rich.
Apply one coat of your second color on top of the first. This stripe should be about half the thickness of the first one. Let it dry completely and repeat this step, if necessary.
Finish with the clear top coat of your choice. RGB's Glass Top has intense shine and serious staying power.
