Everyone has that favorite lipstick, the one that you've used down to the last twist and bought over and over. For me, that's MAC's Lady Danger. Personally, I think it's the most flattering red-orange out there for blondes, and if it were ever discontinued I would stage a protest. (So MAC, please don't ever let it go!) But when I purchased my very first tube, its coral red tone just looked off with my usual rosy pink blush.

I turned to Keri Blair, senior artist at MAC, to see exactly what shade I needed to complement my orange lip. "I don't think that you have to be overly matchy-matchy with your makeup," Blair told me. "Often times, I think that if you're going to use a pop of color you may want to keep the rest of your face more simple and streamlined."

As a result, I've since forayed into the bronzer-as-blush territory to let the bold red-orange hue stand out. Click through the slideshow above to see five perfect pairings to get your lipstick and blush color combo just right!
