Each and every summer, without fail, women's magazines and style websites—yes, even this one—share new and improved ways to get glowing before hitting the beach. And while I certainly don't condemn a girl's choice to look sun-kissed—unless it involves dangerous tanning booths or time spent outdoors sans SPF, of course—I'm pretty darn proud of my own pale skin. I religiously apply an SPF 30 facial moisturizer every morning; whenever my weekend plans involve hours spent at the park or on the shore, I up that to SPF 55 and slather it on from head to toe. In short, I'd rather safeguard my fair complexion than look Brazilian bombshell-level bronzed. It's a weird stance in these modern times, I know, but I'm sticking to it.
