Thick, feathery lashes are really the ultimate in pretty, sexy glamour. While they never go out of style, this fall, on runways from Prada to Saint Laurent, false lashes were everywhere. At Rochas, makeup artist Lucia Pieroni used three (three!) sets per eye, and at Gucci, makeup artist Pat McGrath looked to ’60s It Girls like Britt Ekland for inspiration, applying false lashes both top and bottom. "It’s a timeless look," says McGrath, P&G creative design director. "Lashes instantly open up your eyes, which flatters everyone." A full strip—like those McGrath used backstage—is for serious drama; individual ones are better if you want to look more natural. And faux isn’t the only option: Extensions add length and thickness for up to eight weeks, and prescription Latisse speeds eyelash growth so well that some people find they have to trim them.
