If singer Jessie Baylin is missing before a show, check the parking lot. "Vans and buses have the best lighting for putting on makeup," she says. "Especially the passenger seat." The 24-year-old does her whole look herself—in moving vehicles, dressing rooms, and hotel bathrooms, wherever—usually with little time to spare. "It takes ten, twelve minutes, tops," she says. Her look, a cross between Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks, requires more energy in the hair department than anything else: "I have decent skin, so I do a soft lip and a stronger eye and I'm good to go."
"I like to fling and thrash my head around during my shows—and if I wear glossy gloss, my hair invariably gets stuck in it. This is just the right bit of color and gleam, with no stickiness. Plus it lasts for a whole show."
"I use this only on the hair aroudn my face—to make it shinier and more textured, for the one-day-after-a-wash look. It also makes bangs piecier, which is crucial."
"I have to admit I'm often too tired to wash my face. I used to buy these in bulk in England, but now I get them at Target!"
"I cannot tell you how much I love this entire brand. it moisturizes and gets product out and smells so clean!"
"This is the prettiest gold-flecked maroon. I know it seems scary, but it's not once it's on. I put this all over my lids. Then I layer on tons of eyeliner on top."
