Top Makeup Artist Reveals Her Skin-Perfecting Secret Concoctions!

file

It's all about the mix for New York makeup artist Jordan Long, who often works with cool girls like Regina Spektor, Jessica Szohr, and Elizabeth Banks. "Blending two different products gives you the flexibility to make skin look totally natural," she says. Here, four of her all-time favorite stealth formulas.

1. Rosy Pink Lips

Lipstick + Balm

This combination gives anyone the prettiest, most lip-like tint. The trick is to blend with your finger to tone down the red and create more of a sheer rosy mauve stain.

2. Allover Dewiness

Highlighter + Body Cream

"I rub the stick on my hand and mix with the cream, then lightly apply to the top of shoulders and above chest. I sweep what's left over on cheekbones and underneath the brow. It catches the light in a beautiful way and leaves skin with a subtle sheen."

3. Understated Tawniness

Bronzer + Face Mist

"This bronzer is fantastic—it's not overly shimmery. I use a large powder crush to dust along cheeks, forehead, and the bridge of the nose; it warms up any face. I finish with a spritz of toning spray to set it and create a nice luminosity. Plus, it smells amazing."

4. Flawless Skin

Concealer + Eyeliner Brush

"I dot dry concealer onto blemishes or broken capillaries—this liner brush gives incredibly precise coverage. The dryness of the stick keeps the color from moving, so it really lasts."
