FABB is as much about the attendees as it is about the panelists. Samantha Hutchinson of Could I Have That? discusses pretty much everything, from blogging essentials to California style, with Lucky.
Q: Tell us about your blog, Could I Have That? Why did you start blogging?
A: I started my blog as a creative outlet to house all the things I'm currently loving, wearing, doing, eating and coveting. My lifestyle in Santa Barbara is what drives my blog, so I write about anything from a favorite outfit to what mascara I'm using or a new recipe I'm trying out. I love extracting little bits of glamor and adding them to my more casual routine. Sometimes it's the littlest things that can make us feel like a million bucks.
Q: What are your blogging necessities?
A: I use a Cannon Rebel with a few different lenses and a MacBook Pro. I always keep a mini notebook in my purse to jot down ideas.
Q: The annual September FABB is held in New York. What do you think differentiates L.A./California from NYC in terms of fashion and beauty?
A: I love both cities so much, but there is a softer approach to fashion here in California. The vibe is relaxed and tends to be a bit more casual. You can get just as dolled up as you would in the big apple, or leave the house in jeans and a tee and still be fabulous.
Q: As a fashion and beauty blogger, why is having a forum like FABB important to the industry?
A: Being a blogger has been so rewarding because I have made so many new friends and connections all over the world. However, getting to meet people in the flesh is a rare occurrence since you can be a blogger from anywhere. Forums like FABB give the opportunity to connect, interact and pick up tips from other bloggers, editors and tastemakers.
Q: What do you hope to learn or take away from FABB West?
A: I'm looking forward to being inspired by speakers, meeting and chatting with fellow bloggers and learning more about an industry that I love so much.
