FABB West Kicks Off With Kelly Wearstler

FABB West took LA by storm. Check back often, because we'll be recapping some of our favorite moments and events.

FABB West, which took place on Monday, April 30, might have been the main event, but we had a pretty fabulous weekend all around. Sunday ended with a cocktail party hosted by Kelly Wearstler at her West Hollywood boutique. Following a full day of events, bloggers arrived in droves to the interior decorator-turned-fashion designer’s Melrose Avenue store for the official FABB West kick-off event.

Since many of the bloggers and Lucky staffers were staying at the Wearstler-designed and decorated Viceroy Hotel, everyone was excited to check out how she designed her boutique. The amazing sculptures, spiked chandeliers, and black, white and gold accents were everything we’d hoped for—and the huge brass door handle inlaid with stones made for pretty much the chicest entrance we’d ever seen.

Kelly, joined by her husband, Brad Korzen, and two sons, graciously chatted and posed for photos with eager bloggers at the guest-list only event.

The nearly one hundred attendees could not get enough of the designer's clothing and accessories. and busily tweeted photos and updates from the party. Music played while wine and cocktails by Clos du Bois and Hard Luck Candy Vodka were served along with sushi and hors d'oeuvres courtesy of M Café and Clean Plates.

Lucky’s own Editor-in-Chief Brandon Holley, along with Executive Fashion Director Alexis Bryan Morgan, and West Coast Editor Marlien Rentmeester, were on hand to greet guests. (Check out the Kelly Wearstler Outro Basket Weave Dress Brandon wore!)

Some of our favorite bloggers (Design Love Fest, I Spy DIY, Wendy’s Lookbook, Bag Snob, The Beauty Department, Brit & Co., What Courtney Wore, Apartment 34, This Time Tomorrow and Karla Sugar to name a few) were also in the house to celebrate. Samantha Hutchinson of Could I Have That? paid tribute to the designer, wearing a pair of her black and white Mackaw Raked Sand Pants.

Attendees left with amazing gifts befitting the host’s casual Southern California style: customized dyed and stenciled t-shirts and tanks .
