Alli attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and began her career in fashion working for designer Nicole Miller in New York City in 1994. After securing the licensing rights for Nicole Miller in Florida with her brother Michael Landau, she returned to her hometown of Boca Raton to open her own Nicole Miller boutiques in Boca Raton and Miami. The stores were a huge success and among the highest grossing in the nation. In 1996 they were sold to a private investor and Alli left fashion retailing to pursue her true passion – hair styling.
Alli trained under the expert tutelage of John Peters and Toni & Guy to become a professional hair stylist. She then spent the next several years honing her skills working for the late, great John Sahag. The self-proclaimed “curly-girl” was always in search of a quality coiffeur for her own hair but was unimpressed by the available options – an overpriced blowout at an expensive salon or a less than fabulous experience at a discount chain.
After leaving the professional hair workforce in 2005 to start a family, she decided to find a way to continue the creative side of hair styling at a “new-mom” pace. Alli offered in-home weekly blowout services for friends, but her “side business” quickly grew into more than a part-time gig. The business exploded strictly with referrals from her loyal clients, which lead Webb to the natural decision to open a physical “blow dry bar” location. Drybar, the exclusive all-style, no-attitude, high-design shop is the first of its kind in Los Angeles.
The first Drybar location opened in Los Angeles in February 2010 and since then has expanded to an additional thirteen locations in Southern California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia and NYC. 2012 expansion plans include Manhattan Beach, NYC, and Washington D.C.
