J Brand set out to create timeless, classic and sophisticated jeans with an emphasis on fit and the inspiration to make a woman look and feel beautiful in her jeans. Following this mission, J Brand has achieved a winning combination of style, comfort and sexiness.

Bringing with him extensive knowledge of the market and over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, Jeff Rudes, CEO, co-founded J Brand in 2004. Rudes pioneered the French jeans boom in America in the late 1970s with his first denim brand, Paris 2000. After moving his business from New York to Los Angeles, he established several apparel brands such as: Area Code, a junior line of Lycra knits, and A. Gold E., the successful denim sportswear brand partnering with industry icons Ron Herman and Adriano Goldschmied.

J brand was created with a vision to create a jean that fit so perfectly it would follow the contours of the body. Rudes launch the brand as an exclusive at Ron Herman's Melrose jean bar in Spring 2005, and it became an immediate success with consumers, notable celebrities and influential editors.

With the introduction of the dark-washed skinny jeans, J Brand was the first company to drive this trend. In fall 2008, J Brand introduced a men's line embodying modern classics with a masculine sensibility. The breadth of the brand has evolved to include a full range of non-denim fabrications.

Seasonal denim initiatives have included collaborations with designers: Hussein Chalayan, Proenza Schouler, and the 5x5 collaboration with UK-based designers Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicholl, Meadham Kirchoff, Erdem and Christopher Kane. Beginning with Resort 2012, J Brand and Christopher Kane continued their partnership with a multi-seasonal creative alliance.

For spring 2012, J Brand introduced a Ready-to-Wear collection designed with luxurious contrasting fabrics while continuing the simplistic attention to detail and sensibility of the brand.
