Gloss Mania

My long-standing love affair with lip gloss delights me for many reasons, not all of which I fully comprehend. As a person who loves choices, the sheer variety of gloss available is certainly at the top of my list. As a child I owned literally every Bonne Bell Lipsmacker flavor in existence—and felt compelled to carry all of them with me all of the time (usually in my cool mini backpack). I still carry at least five glosses/chapsticks/lip balms with me at all times and have probably a hundred scattered around my apartment.

The newest object of my gloss obsession is hot pink. It's not an everyday look, but for night, I find it just edgy enough and eminently more wearable than a red lip is for my very fair complexion. Shu Uemura Vinyl Unlimited gloss in PK 359 and Three Custom Color's Light Brights gloss in Palladium are my current favorites, but of course I want variety—tell me your favorite hot pinks!

I second hot pink for fair complexions! There's a gloss from Bath and Body I like, and Clinique has a berry-colored Almost Lipstick that's good as well.

Nars lip gloss in Pillow Talk. It's as close to Hot Pink as I can get with my tan-in-the-summer, green-in-the-winter complexion.

I'm brown, so I do a lot of pink all year long. I'm a fan of L'Oreal HIP Jelly Balm in Delectable. It's glossy and sheer pink goodness :)

mark's glow bab glow in hot and another fav (also by mark ) is the metalluscious lip cream in luxury. i'm also a brown skinned girl and i find that pink is a little more forgiving than red for me. the best part is that they are only $5 each!!!!

Lip glosses and balms are great. Everyone seems to be worried about the economy and the survival of all these delicious little treats . . . no worries, lipstick sales were up 40% in November, yes . . . the month following the worst financial downfall we have seen in a very long time. Great news in a bad economy!!

I'm more of a lip balm girl (Burt's Bees forever!) than a gloss girl mainly due to staying power, hydration, and not getting hair stuck on my lips. However, I make an exception for the CO Bigelow glosses at Bath & Bodyworks. I'd love to be able to pull off a hot pink, but not sure if I can with my winter complexion (fair, but not peaches 'n cream).
