SUPERMODEL ALERT

MK_LH.jpgLauren Hutton, looking stunningly gorgeous in super La Dolce Vita red-check dress (not the one pictured here, mind you) by Michael Kors—her body is incredible, despite being laid up after her huge surfing accident (at 65! looking hotter than hot and having SURFING accidents!), her hair is perfect beachy California tousledness, and her face is un-blown-up and un-Cubist and utterly natural and beautiful. I want to be her when I grow up—an unlikely scenario, given my never-been-a-supermodel reality. The natural, glowy skin involves lots of her skincare-inflected makeup, which is undetectable on, yet works miracles, especially the Sheer Concealer. Do a stripe of the stuff down your nose, blend, and your nose looks instantly more petite, and your whole face looks more balanced. It’s kind of incredible.

OUR TWILIGHT OBSESSION CONTINUES: EDWARD CULLEN'S GIRLY LIPSTICK REVEALED!

Readers of this blog know about my love of all things vampire; obviously, I became a diehard Twihard about two seconds after the movie came out. I was thrilled to discover Beauty 411’s
cat.jpg
breakdown of the actual products that makeup artist Jeanne Van Phue used on set.  Obviously, I’m going to focus on Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart because--as all Twihards agree--they belong together! Even

in blog posts!  I will not, however, be discussing that Nikki Reed.  (Confused? Read the archived Twilight coverage on the super-insider-y-awesome website Lainey Gossip).

So. Both Robert and Kristen were slathered in Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55--presumably to keep them ultra-pale--and caked with Mac Blot Powder/Pressed in Light (once again, pale).

It rained nearly every day, which was challenging.  Then Van Phue discovered that SK-II AirTouch Makeup and Smashbox Limitless Lash Waterproof Mascara in Black were streakproof, and added them into the mix.

Both wore Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick: Kristen’s shade was Good to Go; Robert’s was--wait for it--Ms. Behavin.

Kristen wore brown contacts so her eyes would match their description in the book, while Rob
ert wore both golden and black contacts to be consistent with the “Are you wearing contacts?” scene.

There you have it: the hottest vampires ever and how they got that way. I’ve seen Twilight at least eight times--you?

THE BODY SHOP = AWESOME

Don't you love rediscovering a fantastic beauty product you'd totally forgotten existed? This morning I was at the Body Shop (they're coming out with amazing new makeup at the end of the summer, P.S.) when I spotted--and LUNGED for--a jar ofA bodyshop.jpgVitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream. A It's pink and luminous, so it makes YOU look healthy and glowy, even when you were up until 3 am exploring completely useless websites like omnomnomnom.com. And unlike similar illuminating moisturizers--which are great on lovely skin but can be too subtle for the leaden glory that is MY morning face--this one isn't subtle: you WILL look, as I said, pink and luminous. Noticeably so (if you want to tone it down a notch, I also love the cream mixed with tinted moisturizer or a little foundation).

WHAT LAURA MERCIER WEARS ON HER OWN FACE

secretconcealer.jpg
I met THE Laura Mercier yesterday! A It was hugely thrilling—she makesA

some of my all-time favorite products (like this, and this). A She told me that she always—always—wears primer (the original in the summer and the hydrating one in the winter), and her illuminating tinted moisturizer. Her skin looked fantastic. So there it is.

Ask an Editor!

Bquestion 200

Q: I have hereditary dark circles under my eyes that no amount of eye cream can get rid of. I'm desperately looking for a concealer that's thick, creamy, and long-lasting.   Anything in stick form is infinitely preferred over a compact—I'm loathe to use compacts because I feel they harbor bacteria faster than anything in stick form and take longer to apply. Any suggestions?

Much thanks!
Erin

A: Have you ever tried Max Factor's Pan Stick? It's super-creamy, comes in eight different color iterations (some people use it as a heavier coverage foundation), routinely gets rave customer reviews—and is under $7. And it's BIG—if you're only using it for concealer, it will last forever.
