Not judging a book by its cover

There's a certain phenomenon I've noticed on eBay—folks trying to sell their stuff with glamorous vanity shots of themselves and/or their friends. Have you come across this? In some cases, these earnest attempts at high fashion work in a rough-around-the-edges hipster way. Other times, however, they backfire, slipping into something I'll kindly call "style satire." But herein lies the rub: While I know I've bought things on eBay because I liked the model, I've also rejected items because the image was so cheesy as to be unimaginable in my life. It would be cruel to single anyone out, though I will say the store Famous Finds hints at a little of both. Sometimes they figure out a way to show a piece that makes it irresistible, but in other shots something I should want to buy just comes across as YIKES!

The worst are the ones modeled by the women who are too tan and have HUGE fake boobs. Did they get fake boobs just so they could model on Ebay? Totally turns me off the clothes - which isn't hard since normally it's polyester club clothes.
