As
discussed last week, sad or not, I'm trying to get a jump on my fall wardrobe by purchasing a few key items now that I absolutely love and can wear through next spring. I've long been a
Phillip Lim fan, but the stars have never really aligned for us, what with my budget restrictions and his stuff being gorgeously expensive. Today, however, I decided to check for PL items on eBay and... WHOA. THERE ARE SO MANY CLOTHES. Most all of them actually look authentic and many of them would be amazing for going to work on a crisp autumn day. If you search Phillip Lim right now and type in "under $100" you'll find
more than 150 adorable, affordable, feminine pieces, including tops, skirts, and this
pretty-sophisticated sailor dress, which is (for now at least), just 80 bucks (imagine it with boots and a cardigan!)

I'm not usually the kind of girl who can pull off
Kate Spade's

neat, perfectly ladylike aesthetic, but seeing
this outstanding T-shirt from Emily's post last week made me want some bright, fresh KS pieces with a ferocity I can hardly explain. But lo, when I searched eBay, all I saw were the designer's flannel pajamas--not exactly the cute, prepster look I was hunting for--and I felt temporarily crestfallen. But then, in a true (if

completely insignificant) act of brilliance, I decided to cast about for Kate Spade shoes and... I hit pay dirt! Oh. My. God. You have no idea how many pairs of adorable
sandals,
flats,
wedges, "
rain shoes" and
heels are available on eBay right now. Thousands! I narrowed things down by clicking "advanced search" and typing in my size and "under $50." You can
and should do this too.

I'm guessing many of you already know this trick and are right now thinking "That's so obvi" (or maybe you're not because "obvi" is a lame abbreviation that only I am weirdly obsessed with integrating into daily language. Are you an "obvs" girl? I won't judge), but lately I have been finding awesome things by searching eBay by the term "
Shopbop." Check this out: Today I spotted a
Daryl K red dress to add to my
red dress arsenal (every girl should have one)--a perfect
Splendid cardigan and this adorable
Geren Ford piece, which would be a tunic on my Godzilla-like frame, but someone should buy this and wear with flat sandals stat.
