Winning Bronze

Erie Basin in Red Hook, Brooklyn, might be my favorite store to have opened within the last year, and these Lee Hale candlesticks are a great example of why. I've never seen anything like them—the bird feet are delicately rendered in oxidized bronze and exquisitely detailed in a Ted Muehling-ish kind of way. They're both totally weird and utterly beautiful at the same time, and if I had the means, I'd buy them by the dozen to scatter across the table at my next dinner party. Erie Basin is packed full of other stunning but offbeat objects, both new and vintage; and if you can't make it out to Red Hook, the e-commerce site will give you a satisfying taste of what they've got in stock.
