My summer fashion attention span? Short
It's only the first day of July, and already I'm feeling kind of ... bored, style-wise. Bored with my gladiator sandals, bored with my maxdresses, bored with my slightly billowy tops and short-shorts (which I probably should not be wearing anyway), bored with the whole carefree Grecian-hippie persona I'm projecting to the world.
I want a new look that's not floaty, easy-access sexy, but more prim-and-sophisticated summery, like Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief. How to achieve this? Why, with shirtdresses, of course! This blue and black color-block style might not keep you super-cool, but it does have a crisp shape I love. There's also this classic, well-cut black linen version, which I know I'd wear for years. And, last, kind of prissy, but in a nice way: a pink puff-sleeved piece that I'd pair with a neat little bun, high-heeled brown sandals, and a belt.
