Under Pressure
At a party recently someone told me that the pressure per square inch exerted downward by a woman in heels is greater than that of an 11,000-pound elephant—a fact I just verified on Google. Isn't that nuts? That can't bode well for our feet. Somewhat perversely, this got me thinking about the wedding I have to go to next weekend at which I would like to try to wear the crazy-high pumps I bought for my own rehearsal dinner last year that were so painful I haven't attempted to wear them since. I think this situation calls for reinforcements. I've been meaning to try either those Dr. Scholl's gel insoles that claim to have massaging properties or Foot Petals, which I've also heard can make a big difference. Can you guys vouch for either of them? Or is there some other miraculous cushioning apparatus I should check out?
