Women Who Look Good Are Sometimes Terrible (and a Blouse That I Like)

My husband and I were sitting in a tiny, not-very-well-known restaurant in Rome last week (eating yet another amazing, enormous meal), when three gorgeous young Italian women walked in and shared our communal table. Shockingly, they started making fun of us almost immediately after they'd ordered—there was more eye rolling and obnoxious staring and whispering than I remember from eighth-grade lunch period. Because our Italian is not very good, we were unable to assess or get out of this bizarre situation until the meal concluded. But here's the weird thing: While the girls were horrible and snotty and I disliked them very much, I was still able to admire and glean inspiration from their style. One woman was wearing a fedora and big wrap sweater; another a sleek leather blazer, T-shirt, and jeans; and the last had the cutest little-bangs haircut, smoky-smudgy eye makeup, and a perfectly fitting, lightly printed tie-neck blouse. It looks just like this one, and I want to purchase it immediately (attitude problem not included).
