Susan Sarandon puts me to style shame
There were loads of good outfits at Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards, but the person who most intrigued me and made me want to step out of my style comfort zone was Susan Sarandon. Unlike most of the over-50 ladies who were wearing frumpy damask patterns and make-you-look-older-immediately conservative gowns, Sarandon had on a sleek, nipped-in tuxedo jacket over a black bustier, with long chains, red lipstick, and a great-looking bob. The effect was timeless and chic, and said,
"Hey, um, world? I'm still hot." (Sarandon is 62.) I don't know where I'd wear an outfit like this, but I still want to give it a whirl with a bustier style like this, this, this, or this; a satin blazer; slim jeans (that are just washed and therefore not baggy-kneed); and the sexiest pointy-toed black heels I own.
