Stop everything you are doing. I mean, stop right this second, and click over to Linda's Stuff, otherwise known as The Best eBay Store I Have Ever Seen. OMG. I don't even know where to begin and, believe me you won't either. Imagine the best, most diverse, well-stocked, well-organized consignment shop you have ever entered, featuring more than 80 high-profile designers (everyone from Givenchy and Dior to Marc and Chloé). Now imagine that you can actually afford most of the stuff you see. I have not even begun to scratch the surface, but am already dying for two pairs of YSL shoes (these hot pink sandals, which are not my size, and this gorgeous beige-y and black pair that definitely is), a Bottega Veneta hobo bag,
and this beautiful everyday dress from Only Hearts, which is a mere 19 bucks.
I think I've only ever had one lasting crush on a celebrity (the gorgeous Matthew Goode, from Brideshead Revisited and that awful Mandy Moore movie Chasing Liberty). But now that his role in Watchmen involves peroxide-blond hair, I think I'll be moving on. To Frieda Pinto. Honestly, I think I could look at pictures of her all day, she is just that beautiful. How, you might ask, does this translate into my style? As, ummm, one of you pointed out in the comments section a few weeks ago, I sometimes skew too hard toward my preppy inclinations, and so I want to shock my system with something a bit more exotic. A new makeup pouch would be a pretty easy place to start, particularly since my current one is trashed—I love this small, but vibrant dose of ikat. And this slouchy evening pouch from Mango is kind of awesome (this coming from someone who has never owned a snake-print anything). Maybe it won't fully Frieda Pinto-ize me, but it's a step in the right direction. Any of you have someone who's inspiring you to jazz up your look?
It's freezing EVEN HERE in Miami—and suddenly my face is sensitive, irritable, and red. I dug this kit out last weekend and God, it's so good. I used it one night and the cleanser and cream felt instantly soothing and lovely, and the next day, I swear the redness was totally gone. I didn't even need to resort to the hydrocortisone lotion in the set. (There's a great sunscreen, too, which I did resort to.)
Has anyone out there with serious rosacea used this? What do you think?

I've been really into tie-dye lately—it must be an extension of my ombré fetish. I don't have a lot of it in my closet (you always want what you don't have, right?), so I've been keeping an eye out for pieces to add to my wardrobe. This new American Apparel T-shirt is perfect, since it also combines the two things I always like in a tee: a gray hue and a looser fit. The way the pattern is scaled and centered, it becomes way more graphic than hippie-ish. It's made of the company's signature poly-cotton (I'm usually not a proponent of poly blends, but theirs is so soft with just the right amount of stretch) that's been burned out to give it a nicely weathered, washed-a-thousand-times look.
For those of you who are paying close attention, you may catch a whiff of CK One when I pass by. This scent brings me right back to the parties I went to in junior high school when EVERY single boy and girl was drenched in this fragrance. I've also started to wear a pair of Dr. Marten's that I purchased at age 12. To avoid looking like a character from My So-Called Life, I am sure to pair them with something really dressed-up and modern like a sleek dress from The Row or a sequined tank. What is your favorite beauty-related moment of the 90s?

A friend of mine overheard on the subway the other day someone claiming that "the gym is the new office." I think it's kind of hilarious, and very possibly true. I feel like I've been living at the gym of late, if only because it's a sound economic decision (every time I go to a spin class it gets closer to being free!), and it provides some of the best people-watching in the city. I have about 10 pairs of Lululemon yoga pants since I strongly believe they make the most flattering options on the market, but I lose all inspiration when it comes to tops. In general, I've been wearing some variation on the Lucky logo tee (hard-won at various in-store events). I just don't want to spend $50 on a Lycra tank, even though the idea of a built-in sports bra is wildly appealing. Do you guys have any secret—and supportive—sources? I've been eyeing these Long and Lean Champion tanks at Target.

How are we feeling about neon? I am weirdly, embarrassingly craving it, the way you sometimes crave a song like "Funky Cold Medina," plunk down 99 cents for it on iTunes, and listen to it in private bliss—that is, until someone spots it on your playlist and squawks, "You have TONE-LOC on your iPod?" I fear neon will lead to this sort of disgrace. But my desire (along with validation from runways)
is strong enough that I am forging ahead anyway. Today I saw this DKNY '80s superhero trench and thought it could be perfectly bright and springy with skinny jeans and flats. I also fell in love with these offbeat bold blue shoes and a sleek fluorescent yellow wallet, which could double as a clutch. When I
found this interesting cobalt cardigan, I knew it would look outstanding with a thin V-neck tee and leggings, and I'm still on the fence about these vibrant retro sunglasses, but am leaning toward them being really great with a romper and Vans for the beach.

I am the opposite of a Buddhist these days: I am not living in the moment, I feel completely averse to the current outdoor circumstances, and I am craving future warmth like "Whoa!" All I can think about are pretty pedicures, fun, short-sleeved dresses (like this one—the auction is about to end, hurry!), and all of the cute shoes I'll wear with both. On a positive note, eBay is making my mission for affordable spring trends relatively easy. Today I just typed in "wood platforms" and 194 (mostly) good pairs came up. Check out this adorable woven style, these from the '70s, which would be amazing with wide-legged jeans and a pretty blouse, this sexy high-heeled version,
and this chunky pair—though I can't tell if they're faintly orthopedic or just cool.
