Electric Youth

How are we feeling about neon? I am weirdly, embarrassingly craving it, the way you sometimes crave a song like "Funky Cold Medina," plunk down 99 cents for it on iTunes, and listen to it in private bliss—that is, until someone spots it on your playlist and squawks, "You have TONE-LOC on your iPod?" I fear neon will lead to this sort of disgrace. But my desire (along with validation from runways)

is strong enough that I am forging ahead anyway. Today I saw this DKNY '80s superhero trench and thought it could be perfectly bright and springy with skinny jeans and flats. I also fell in love with these offbeat bold blue shoes and a sleek fluorescent yellow wallet, which could double as a clutch. When I

found this interesting cobalt cardigan, I knew it would look outstanding with a thin V-neck tee and leggings, and I'm still on the fence about these vibrant retro sunglasses, but am leaning toward them being really great with a romper and Vans for the beach.
