Is It Fate or a Scam?
I have a confession to make: I am in love with a boot. Well, actually a set of boots that's black and snaps up and has the perfect heel that's not too high but not makes-your-calves-look-dumpy flat either. I have been tracking Loeffler Randall's Ivy Snap boots for months, almost purchasing them many times and then coming to my senses—$800 just seems like too much for anything nowadays ... Sigh. But then they went on sale at shopbop.com, and they were half off—still expensive, but what if I wore them for four years? That's only $100 a year! But then they didn't have them in my size. Erg. Today I finally thought to search on eBay, typed in "Loeffler Randall," and like magic, there they were, in my size, the first item that came up. There are some problems, however. The seller (who has very little feedback) is offering several pairs and doesn't seem to have a picture of any of them. I normally wouldn't be so cautious, but I was recently eBay victimized by a "fashion magazine editor" hawking what turned out to be an imaginary Vanessa Bruno dress. Now I'm gun-shy. What do you think? In other, less selfish news, perhaps you'll love these by Loeffler Randall or these or also, oh my, these?
