It's All ... in the Bag
As I've written about a bunch of times before, I'm not really one for the whole It Bag thing. F or one, I'm too cheap and too messy for that kind of investment, but also: Handbags such as these always seemed a little too "look at me" to suit my style. However, anti status bag or not, I really want to get in on the resurgence of German accessories line MCM. While pieces from this luxury label haven't been available in America for decades, WWD announced this week that the company will relaunch in the U.S. sometime in '09, starting with a flagship store at The Plaza Hotel in New York. Until then (or maybe forever, since new ones will likely cost a zillion dollars), there are some gorgeous options on eBay. Among them, I'm in love with this pristine saddlebag style (starting bid: $9.99!); a slightly broken-in doctor's shape; and this tiny version, with an elegant chain strap. I imagine wearing them with white pants and flowy blouses or bright shift dresses and big hoops. I also can see them making me feel rich.
