Let It Rain
Being prepared with the right gear makes a cold, wet, gray day so much more bearable. On Old Navy's site just now I saw these patterned umbrellas that I'd like to add to my rainy day arsenal (which also includes Aigle "Ecuyer" boots that have an equestrian vibe but are cast in rubber instead of leather, and the Gyphon trench I mentioned last week). You can never have too many umbrellas, since inevitably they break or get left behind, and in my experience even the expensive ones will blow inside out or rip at the corners. These come in at less than ten bucks and the prints are great—my favorite is this abstract floral in shades of blue and plum, and in a tie for second are the red dotted version and the sweetly graphic cornflower blue one.
