On the hunt for ... novelty prints (the weirder, the better)

I'm a huge fan of conversation-starter clothes, the kinds of pieces that are offbeat and interesting enough that someone is bound to ask you about them. (Within reason, of course—my mother's '80s "Grab a Heiney!" Heineken sweatshirt sparked conversation, but it was entirely the wrong type.) Anyway, this is why I've been obsessed lately with vintage novelty-print dresses. They're fun, sweet, incredibly imaginative, and I love their "is it an old woman's face or two naked ladies?" kind of eye trickery. Favorite patterns today include a painterly landscape, a lounging bohemian lady, flowery dancers, a city "art" look, and this, which doesn't seem as far out as the others, but might be one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen.
