Flattering or not?

We've made no secret of the fact here at Lucky that defining the waist—with a belt, with a pencil skirt, with a full-skirted dress—is one of the biggest boons you can do for your figure. Which is why I'm always at a loss when I encounter a skirt like this. It has a waistband, but it's gathered (which means there's extra fabric). This also means that it doesn't need a belt. Flattering or not? I think it's really, really cute, but I'm loathe to buy anything that makes me look thick around the middle. Your thoughts please?
