I Survived My First Morning News Show

I was so busy scouting festival style yesterday that I didn't get a chance to write about the most terrifying part of my visit to New Orleans (NOLA, as they chicly call it) for Jazz Fest: my segment on Fox Channel 8 morning news!!! Morning shows are so not asglamorous as you'd think: There's a newsroom, a coffee pot, and a few curling irons in a bathroom, which is where I got dressed and slathered on my own makeup (you're supposed to wear a ton; I was happy to until it started melting off my face later and looked like a sad drag queen). The new Prescriptives liquid mineral foundation is great, P.S. It's my new favorite everyday makeup ... Not heavy at all, but somehow the coverage is miraculously good.

So my segment was about music festival beauty---I wound up talking about my K-Fed hat, sunscreen, and a bunch of other random stuff. But LORD (as they say down here), was I NERVOUS. I liked the dress I wore--a teal Diane Von Furstenberg--but I still cringed watching myself in the clip later. No major mistakes oranything, but a little awkwardness and still weird to see! Has anyone else been on live TV, or have on-camera tips in general? Please share!!!
