IT'S MY LAST DAY AT JAZZ FEST AND SO FAR ALL I'VE SPOTTED IS A "LIL' WAYNE FOR PRESIDENT" T-SHIRT

... In fairness, I've been here exactly three minutes. And even as I write this (from a Blackberry, on a ratty Baja blanket surrounded by little kids selling $1 water bottles, and wearing a boho Madewell lace-racerback tank and a maybe-too-short-but-it's-85-degrees Earnest Sewn black denim miniskirt) the style is improving. The hats! NYC street style could use more hats. I know I keep writing about them, but they're just getting cooler: never have I seen so many cute felt bowlers and floppy, wide-brimmed sunhats-- paired with distressed leather hobo bags, bangles, and eyelet-lace white minidresses. I caught the Kentucky Derby on TV yesterday (over a massive bowl of gumbo, natch) and spotted some glamorously over-the-top options there... Though Philip Treacy-wearing Londoners truly do over-the-top glam best, no?

I'm feeling shopping-desire pangs! Must resist until after Neil Young. Then, back to Magazine Street! (I did squeeze in some shopping yesterday; more on that later...)
