Muji at Terminal 5 = Brilliant

I've never understood why airport shopping isn't better. You have a captive audience of bored travelers who have invariably forgotten to pack something important (or forgotten to snag a gift for someone who expects a gift back home). Plus, I know this is silly, and maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but money spent in transit somehow doesn't feel like money spent at all. I was in JFK for only about 30 minutes the other night and still managed to blow $20 at Cibo Express and $40 at the newsstand without feeling guilty at all. And that was before I came across Muji on the Go, arguably the most exciting addition to the newly revamped Terminal 5 (and hopefully something that will come to airports across the country soon). It's essentially a brilliantly-curated array of Muji's best products—stationery, colored pencils, expandable bags, travel pillows, socks—things you would definitely want if you had accidentally left them behind. And whether a necessity or not, this chic cotton tote is singularly awesome. I'm not sure what other shops would inspire similar glee in an airport: One of the accessories stand-alone shops from Forever 21? A J.Crew? What do you guys think?
