Wanted: Long tops

When it's time for me to work on one of the magazine's big shopping trip stories, I spend a week planning my outfits. Here's why: I feel that I must look cute, and put together, but I also have to be armed for full-on contact with every single part of a store, nasty bits and all. I can often be found crawling around on the floor—under tables, behind racks—looking for outlets or interesting angles for the photographer to use. Which means that I stock up on durable, not super-precious tops that are long, because I really don't want to be flashing my lower back at the photographer and his assistant. I think this painterly plaid top via Baltimore-based boutique chain South Moon Under might be perfect—what do you guys think?
