OBSESSED AT FIRST SIGHT: ROSE ANNA

I have a sartorial love affair with French brands.

But not the ones you'd expect me to mention (Lanvin, Louis, Chloe). It's actually more with their little fairly-cheap-and-very-cheerful indie labels like Maje, Heimstone, and Ba&sh, all of which Lucky brought to you first when they launched stateside. And last fall's personal discovery of The Kooples, which has yet to come to the US, but, oh, how I'm obsessed with The Kooples. They're like a sharper version of APC and have the coolest rotating music mix on their website that I listen to daily.

I didn't quite realize how much I have hanging in my wardrobe until I decided to count everything up while writing this story: 17 pieces from Maje; 3 from Heimstone; 2 from Ba&sh, and 9 from The Kooples. Wow.

Now I've fallen for another one: Rose Anna, which will be available this autumn at LA boutique Satine. Helmed by two former designers from the aforementioned Ba&sh, who are very good friends of the girls from Heimstone, the line of boyish knits, slouchy trousers, granddad cardigans, silk shorts, and lace trapeze dresses is definitely one to watch--and wear.
