Newest Shopping Resource: Taxi TV

I have a love/hate relationship with Taxi TV, the latest NYC phenomenon of little tv screens in the back of taxis that show customized programming about all sorts of stuff including NY shopping. I love it because all of the segments are totally entertaining and insider-y, and I hate it because it seems like driving in a car should be the one place where you would be able to escape the electronic drone. That said, I've picked up some really good shopping resources while sitting in NY traffic. This morning I discovered a store in the West Village called Phoenix Roze. I ran back to the office to pull up the website (embarrassingly, we ran a Lucky Break in the magazine in 2007 of which I have no recollection) where I found shockingly reasonable prices on really beautiful, special jewelry. One of my favorites is this black pave diamond heart necklace. Can't wait to jump in a taxi and check it out in person.
