Under $50: Early Summer Dress

I'm a sucker for plaid in any variation, whether it's madras or a buffalo check—and so it thrills me that so many labels are playing right into my hand these days. Case in point, this fitted shirtdress at Delia's, which is available in every conceivable color combination (I think I would keep it simple and stick to white and black). A wide woven belt—just like the one the model is wearing—would be a good option, as would some basic sandals. I know plaid is historically considered to be a warm weather fabric, but I really believe that it's pretty seasonless at this point. This is sort of one-step dressing at its best, as far as I'm concerned.
