Under $50: perfect summer travel wrap
I love this drapey cardigan by Alternative Apparel for many reasons, the first one being that it's made from a material called slub (I mean...what is slub?). The second, and more important reason is that it looks really comfortable and light, which are key qualities of any summer travel piece. I love being able to wrap myself in something when I'm on a plane (and NOT one of the blankets in the overhead bins), and while my first choice is always a big cashmere shawl, it's just not summer-appropriate. Plus, I can wear this once I land—I'm going to Montana this weekend, where layers are essential, all year round. And they can't be precious either, particularly since I'll be hiking around Glacier. Even though this isn't exactly right for walking up mountains, at least I can wear it in the bar at the lodge after. I'm thinking maybe black or grey, though this brown is kind of appealing, too.
