On a recent trip to my homeland, England, I had a chance to visit my favorite charity shop 'Oxfam' on Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill, London and came across the most amazing denim vest for a bargainous A#5 this has led me into a
denim vest obsession. Since it's too hot to wear a denim jacket right now, vests give any dress or top that instant Alexander Wang vibe! Check out these alternatives from

When I was growing up, every day after school I'd watch a rerun of
Blossom (followed by
The Cosby Show,
Family Matters, and
Step by Step...) and I have an image of its uber-cute, totally relatable star, Mayim Bialik, wearing a rimmed hat with a
big floppy flower from the show's
opening credits seared in my brain. Apparently, her style hasn't changed much since then (read: baggy pants and plaid flannel jackets) so
What Not to Wear hosts Stacy and Clinton personally nominated her for this year's season premier. She just wrote a
behind-the-scenes article about her experiences on set for new Jewish online zine Tablet (in which you'll also learn she's earned a Ph.D. in neuroscience!), and you can see more photos of her transformation
here. She still looks cute, but also pulled-together--more like a star actress now than ever!
It's hard to wrap your head around buying coats and boots in the middle of July, but as the saying goes, you snooze you lose. So here I am, July 30th, trying to figure out my
winter boot wardrobe. I'm really into
this retro-ish pair from A.P.C.. I swear by A.P.C. boots. I've convinced myself that the cost-per-wear factor makes them basically free, and I have around five pairs that I live in and rotate all fall and winter. But I also want to try the over-the-knee boot trend that has been sweeping the runways. I think a low-heeled version will be a bit easier for me to pull off, and I love
this simple pair from Stuart Weitzman. They'll be perfect with skirts and dresses for fall and winter.

There are very few things I'd change about
my wedding, because it was pretty much perfectly low-key and rad and exactly
what I wanted, but if I
had to pick something, I'd probably say that I wish I'd worn some kind of glamorous, meshy, retro-style headpiece like the ones sold by
Bat Cakes Couture. They just seem so old-timey feminine, playful, and even a little formal, without all the fuss of a veil. If you're getting married--or even if you're attending a fancy event, they're that cool--you might want to consider one of dozens of options here. I particularly love this
feather birdcage look and this slightly-crazy
ostrich style, both of which are elegant and so, so, fun.
