Should You Change Your Wardrobe If You Move?
I'm moving to Austin this fall, so most of my recent purchases have been an attempt to break out of my NYC neutrals-only-box and embrace perpetual summer and southwestern-inspired styles. Instead of my usual blacks and greys, I've been buying more bright colors and patterns--the kinds of pieces I would only be able to pull-off in New York for a couple months a year, but in Austin will be able to wear almost year round. In addition to clothes, I've also been putting some serious thought into boots, for obvious reasons. My new interest in wearing color and my piqued interest in boots have combined to result in my most adventurous purchase to date--a pair of Frye Carson Pull-Ons in blue. I never thought I would own a pair of turquoise leather boots but I'm so glad I took a chance on them! They look great with the flowy white dress collection I'm building and totally brighten up all of the neutral pieces I've stockpiled over a lifetime in the Northeast.
