Fashion CopyCat: Yes, It Really Happens!
A few weeks ago while attending a breakfast event I was introduced to LA stylist Britt Bardo. I was immediately taken by her style and the outfit envy was palpable. Britt was the epitome of casual cool in a slinky black t shirt, an ankle length flowy floral print skirt (belted over the shirt) and a pair of black rock and roll peep-toe lace up booties. For a hot muggy summer morning she looked so airy and light, yet perfectly balanced with a tough edge. I've been cultivating a love of long skirts for about a year, but they are really tricky to wear (which is why I was so struck by Britt's interpretation). Ever since that day I have been trying to recreate this enviable look, and I think I finally have all the pieces in place.
The most important item is of course the skirt and I think this Elizabeth and James floor length one approximates the not-too-bold print on the skirt Britt wore. When I add in this soft black tee from Urban Outfitters and these fantastic lace ups from Steve Madden my look will be complete. It's like Britt styled me and she didn't even know!
