Inspiration: Amelia Earhart

We fell in love with the dashing '30s-inspired wardrobe of Amelia Earhart in our September issue, and it appears we're not alone. Leading up to the premiere of Amelia, the eponymous biopic, Jean Paul Gaultier created an entire aviation-inspired line for Hermes full of luxe bombers, leather jumpsuits and flight goggles and Bloomingdale's is prominently featuring the film in their fall ad campaign titled "Lights, Camera, Action."
We had a peek at the costumes from the film (out October 23rd) and it'seasy to see what the buzz is all about. Get ready for lots of rugged, tomboyish outfits (think oxfords, scarves and khakis) mixed withstunning ladylike looks.Interesting fun fact: Earhart was no stranger to fashion; she actually had her own short-lived clothing line full of pieces that mimicked her flying gear!
