Amazing Find: Topshop's Personal Shopping Service
The other morning, in the midst of an apocalyptic rainstorm, I ducked into Topshop. I was soaked, wearing flip-flops and fully expecting to be shunned by all the super-cool salespeople. Yet the most adorable girl came up, introduced herself as Geneva Thomas and asked me if I'd like to try the store's new personal shopping service. It's FREE and usually by appointment only, but her next client wasn't due for another hour.
So Geneva led me to the back of the second floor, past the line of people waiting for a regular dressing room, to a ginormous private fitting room. Think pink tufted ottomans, bottles of water, excellent British fashion magazines, a range of accessories in the corner and, soon enough, a huge rack of clothes hand-picked for me by Geneva.
I found a long, blush-colored cardigan that looks totally StellaMcCartney, a tough-chic magenta dress for a wedding next weekend, aruffly floral top and a fabulous cut-out black t-shirt by Kate Moss, all for--it's hard to believe--$235! Then Geneva rang everything upso I didn't have to wait in line for the cashier. And, as if thisweren't enough, she gave me a loyalty card so I can start earningrewards.
Who would not sign up for this??
