Casadei Celebrates 50 With Special Collection
There is one scene in Sofia Coppola's visually stunning film Marie Antoinette that I will never forget. It's a beautiful montage of Kirsten Dunst's character lounging in her boudoir as she tries on myriad pairs of shoes. Even then, shoes were the one accessory no one could get enough of. That scene came to mind last night when I viewed the special couture collection of 11 amazing shoes that Italian accessories house Casadei is producing for its 50th anniversary.
In attendance was eternally chic designer Erin Fetherston as well asCasadei creative director Cesare Casadei (his father founded the housein 1958), who created the collection. The heels are available byspecial order at Casadei boutiques worldwide; Marie Antoinette wouldcertainly order them by the carriage load.
As if there weren't enough reasons to lust over his creations, Cesare also unveiled an anniversary book shot by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth, which features models wearing some of the houses iconic shoes.
