A Reader Comment Inspires an eBay Search!

I was perusing the comments on Emily's Julie & Julia /Le Creuset post yesterday (love. that. pot.), when I came across this from a reader named DaisyJ:

"Oddly enough, as fantastic as the food looked in that movie, what I really came out of the theater with a craving for is the structured purses from the fifties segments. Inconvenient to use, I'm sure, but so sharp and ladylike."

I couldn't agree more! In fact, I was obsessed with Meryl Streep's entire wardrobe in the film--her look was entirely feminine, chic, and friendly, but not in a way that seemed impractical. But let's get back to the bags. There are literally hundreds of these classic styles right now on eBay, ranging from the ultra poshto the simple and sleek. You can find them by typing: "Kelly bag" or, if you don't mind sorting through a bunch of random stuff (donkey tote anyone?), "vintage '50s purse."
